THIRD TEAM REFLECTIONS & HALF TERM REPORT
Beckley Rangers 0 – 3 BBFC
“An afternoon where everything clicked after a stressful mid-day re-designing the team”

We learned our lessons from our previous 4-4 draw with Rangers & applied our game plan really well. We had to be patient first half when we dominated play, created a number of chances, but couldn’t take the lead. Rangers dangerous No 5 – nearly stole the lead against the run of play. But Ray Pennels pulled off a tremendous brave save to stop us going one down. Our back four of Arron Davey, Chris Wakeford, James Stephen Rogers & Richard Tich Chambers were well organised at all times & dealt with any further threats. These three goals in the second half gave us a comfortable win:
– 57 mins – terrific strike from distance from Aaron Davies who, through great pressing, helped to create the goal with Kyle Macleod
– 68 mins – Tich’s bullet header from a great corner by Jamie Crouch
– 89 mins – back post finish by Aaron Davies…but who assisted this?
Yes we could have scored more as the woodwork (3 times) & Rangers’ Gillingham youth keeper pulled off a number of great saves. But our midfield 3 of Jamie C, Matt Ward & a fine box-to-box performance by Byron Lear … all worked so well together to win the midfield battle against their young tenacious Rangers oppos. Harry Loates provided a valuable team-focussed performance, ending at RB. And it was also great to give debuts to youngsters Elliot Waller & Jai Rayan-wells, plus another run-out to the patient George Harris.
It was a really good football experience all round – plenty of Respect, smiles & a job well done.
